Dermaroller: A Beauty Tool for a Skin Makeover
How to Use a Dermaroller? Our French Filler Beauty experts review this essential practice with you!
Dermaroller: The First Steps
You need to be careful about the product you buy; purchasing a dermaroller should not be done randomly. As a private individual, for safe use and without risk of injury, the needle length you choose should be a maximum of 0.3mm! While a multi-head dermaroller might be tempting, it's not very cautious. It's better to use a dermaroller correctly according to the rules than to risk damaging your skin.
For the number of needles, you have a choice between the 540-needle face roller or the 1200-needle body roller with a wider head.
After meticulously choosing your dermaroller, it's time to use it!
It is always imperative to thoroughly clean your dermaroller before its first use.
Disinfect it with a standard spray disinfectant. Once the treatment roller is well soaked, rinse it under hot water and let it dry. Proceed with the same dermaroller disinfection after each use.
This method helps to avoid any risk of bacterial contamination.
Dermaroller - Microneedling: Skin Preparation
Once the dermaroller is clean, it's the skin's turn to be prepared. Completely remove your makeup and wipe with a disinfectant pad to eliminate any potentially present bacteria.
Apply your chosen serum to your entire face, also soak your dermaroller with this serum, and start practicing the correct techniques!
Dermaroller - Microneedling: The Right Techniques
The passage of the sterile needle device should never damage your skin. Your skin will redden, but if it bleeds, that's not normal and you should stop the treatment immediately. You should have no scratches or wounds after using the dermaroller. At French Filler, we recommend using our 0.25mm dermaroller for a completely safe session.

Make sure to roll 8 to 10 times over the area to be treated. You should repeat the movements horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. Vary the rolling directions (up and down, left to right, or diagonally).
Once you've performed the correct techniques with your dermaroller, it's important to soothe your skin by applying either a hydrating collagen mask or a thick layer of post-aesthetic procedure cream.
You'll find all these products in our microneedling routines!
Dermaroller - Microneedling: And the Benefits?
Dermaroller treatment helps skin heal faster, making it very popular for treating residual acne marks, scars, and stretch marks.
It also promotes the penetration of cosmetic active ingredients into the superficial dermis of the skin.
Finally, the dermaroller is highly valued for cellular renewal thanks to the activation of microcirculation, allowing tissue oxygenation, collagen and elastin production, and the fight against fine lines and wrinkles.
Dermaroller: What Frequency for My Microneedling Sessions?
It is recommended to perform sessions once a week, in the evening (due to the erythema generated by the session, which subsides within a few hours).
Dermaroller use is contraindicated for pregnant women, diabetics, or in cases of open wounds on the skin. If in doubt, it is best to consult a dermatologist before proceeding with at-home skin care sessions.
If used correctly, using a dermaroller is not painful. However, you may feel very slight tingling.
